How to treat Insect Bites - Mozzies,Gnats and Midges

At this time of year there are lots of mosquito, gnats and midges about. If you are like me, you’ll probably end up getting bitten. The buzz of a mosquito is something I dread as - no matter how many marmite sandwiches I eat - I seem to be a mosquito’s idea of a gourmet supper!!!

Lavender oil is fantastic at dealing with any bites I get. I use neat lavender oil on them - it stops the itch instantly. If you’ve been bitten over a large area, then try this recipe for a solution to add to a cool bath - Mix together 250ml of cider vinegar or the juice of 2 lemons and add to it 15 drops of lavender oil. Put this mixture into your cool bath water, and swish it around in before getting in. After your bath gently pat yourself dry, taking care not to rub any bites, and apply neat lavender oil as before

I hope this helps you should you also be on the Mosquito/Midge/Gnat dining list!!!
