Beeswax has been used for centuries to make candles.   The wax is a by-product of beekeeping and the wax comes from the honeycomb caping which is removed in order to spin off the honey.  As such the candles have a light honey aroma when you burn them and give  the most glorious golden light.   I love the smell and the romance of the link back to the past.

Beeswax candles are known for their clean and pure burn and for helping to clean the air.   This  is because the beeswax releases negative ions when they burn which binds to any positive pollutant ions - absolutely brilliant if you are trying to neutralise odours.

I hand roll these candles and burn them regularly in my home.   The do burn faster than petroleum candles as being rolled the wax is not as densely packed but it does make for a authentic and beautiful candle.   If,  however,  you are looking  for a longer lasting candle do look at the other beeswax candles in the shop.
